ONGOING PROJECT
SYUN and VAL launched a new phase of collaboration to strengthen emergency preparedness in Armenia’s border regions.
Through the Rapid Response in Border Villages initiative, three Syunik communities — Vaghatur, Khoznavar, and Khnatsakh — now each have two trained local first responders on call, ready to act when every second counts.
These dedicated volunteers, equipped with first aid kits and supported by a standby training ambulance, have spent years building their skills through VAL’s programs. Now, they are applying that training directly within their own communities — bringing help, hope, and safety closer to home.
During this three-month pilot period (October–December 2025), the project team will monitor progress, evaluate impact, and explore ways to expand the model across other regions.
Together with VAL, SYUN continues to invest in practical solutions that build resilience and save lives — one village at a time.
