ONGOING PROJECT
The 44-day Artsakh war revealed that the Armenian population is not prepared for emergency situations. This project aims to prepare paramedics and the general population to provide first aid during emergencies.
Since May 2021, more than 1,800 participants from Syunik, Yerevan, Gyumri, Charentsavan, Ashtarak, and Artsakh have attended our first aid training courses. Nearly 300 participants have received second-degree instructor qualifications, and some now train others within the same program. The effectiveness of the acquired knowledge is evident, as each day brings new applications for upcoming courses.
Our courses have generated significant interest from both private and public institutions. On April 1, 2022, our training specialists presented a video lecture on “Behavior in Extreme Conditions” at the 3rd ArmHighTech Technologies International Exhibition. VAL’s activities, implemented programs, and partners, including SYUN, were showcased at the exhibition.
The summers of 2023 and 2024 brought unforgettable first aid training sessions at the picturesque summer camp organized by NGO Bari Mama on the beautiful shores of Lake Sevan. This unique experience united children from various regions of Armenia, along with their parents, camp staff, and instructors from the “VAL” Foundation, who partnered with SYUN on this project. Everyone left with valuable skills, new friendships, and cherished memories, all while having a great time together.
From June 28th to August 5th, 2024, about 250 children from Syunik, Gegharkunik, Kotayk regions, as well as from Yerevan, were trained by our amazing instructors and learned how to survive in extreme situations. Campers enjoyed the courses so much that they were willing to “sacrifice” their swimming time for an additional hour of training, just to learn more.
On July 23 and 24, 2024, four VAL first aid courses were held at the Davidbek Games camp (one of our projects). Our senior expert instructor from France, Sylvie, led one of the courses, offering valuable advice to our young instructors, who are making great progress in becoming more professional.
This project is conducted in collaboration with the VAL Foundation, ensuring that our efforts are supported by expert guidance and valuable partnerships.
