______ Report Report

“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night”. (Exodus 13:21)

The Difference You Made

After her father was wounded, Sara thought she couldn't continue her music lessons. She was overjoyed when her Mom brought home a qanun. Now with this musical instrument she is able to continue taking the classes she loves.
Sara is only one of
27 children for whom SYUN was able to provide support when they needed it the most.
Thousands of families lost their fathers and sons in last year's war. Many thousands more were wounded. At the time we felt that we had to help in any way we could. Thus the idea of SYUN was born. We were able to be pillars of these veterans' families and provided about $25,000 worth of support.
Thankfully these families are back on their feet and no longer require our help.

What We're Working On Now

First Aid Trainings

This SYUN’s project is an initiative by the charitable foundation, VAL (Վերականգնման, առաջընթացի և լուսավորության). The 44-day Artsakh war revealed that the Armenian population is not prepared for emergency situations. This project’s goal is to prepare paramedics and the population in general to provide first aid during emergencies.

From May, 2021 8 courses of “First Aid Trainings” have been conducted by the French specialists. Their original professional methods perfectly reflect real-life disaster conditions. About 300 soldiers and civilians from Yerevan, Syunik, Gyumri, Charentsavan, and Ashtarak received an internationally-recognized certification and first aid kits. Artsakh Ministry of Emergency Situation dispatched employees also participated in the courses. Most of the sessions are being held in the field. Some of them were facilitated by the Aznavour Foundation.

In the border villages of Syunik, first aid and victim transportation  training sessions started on November 30th.

Armath

To strengthen our country we need a knowledgeable and well educated populace.
“Armath” is a youth engineering laboratory program for school children. It enables the next generation to gain engineering skills, specifically in programming, 2D and 3D modeling as well as in robotics.

SYUN began collaborating with the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) on a limited basis by sponsoring laboratory upgrades for secondary schools in villages Araks and Pshatavan and Vagharshapat high school N 3. After the completion of these upgrades we will receive reports and share the results.

Coming Soon

Emergency Response Training Centers

SYUN is planning on creating centers for first aid training and other on the ground projects around Armenia. For that purpose Syunik Marzpetaran (regional government) has offered a building in Goris.  Before this building can be utilized it needs to be furnished and equipped. This will be the first step in creating a network of centers which will help prepare the people to respond in times of peril.

One Of Our Pillars

We are inspired by all those who are dedicated to our cause. There are some who stand out in their devotion. Ruben Adamyan is one such inspiration. Not only did Ruben propose the Armath project to SYUN, he also financed it.

History Corner

To become a united people we need a shared history. In each newsletter we will share a piece of our history in hope that knowledge of it becomes ubiquitous. We will begin from the start...

Hayk defeats Bel with an arrow.

Due to the current situation in Syunik, SYUN launched a Facebook fundraiser to alleviate the suffering of the people. Many of you have already donated, but we must spread the word to everyone.
Act now because time runs out at the end of this year.
