Between the two Artsakh villages of Karmir Shuka and Taghavard, a playground was opened for children. Dedicated to the defenders of these two villages who died in the 2020 war, the playground was sponsored by SYUN and built by the Ghoghanj NGO. It will serve about 200 children from both villages.
During the opening ceremony, the initiator of the idea to build this playground, President of Ghoghanj, Diana Grigoryan, told reporters from a local newspaper and TV news, “Any child living here must understand that he or she is not alone; ‘you and us’ does not exist, there is only ‘us,’ the determination to be united and to support each other.”

Today, we are deeply saddened by the fact that these villages were depopulated in September 2023 as a result of Azerbaijan’s genocidal policy. However, we are obliged to help the displaced families of Karmir Shuka and Taghavard, with whom we maintain close contact. This playground stood as a beacon of hope and unity, ensuring that the children knew they were supported and remembered.
